Game 1-a
Starting Position
- Positions
- 1 - hand on trap
- 2 - hand on hip
- 3 - the opponent's rib cage is on your stomach
- 4 - get your opponent's knee to the floor by placing one foot into the crook your opponent's knee and cross your ankle


Objective
- Top
- Get to the person on bottom's back
- Maintain a good back take control and by that I mean:
- chest to back connection
- ear to ear
- seat belt or figure four grip
- hooks in / body lock
- If you are mounted the game continues.
- You are expected to escape → you do this by putting your knee in between you and your opponent
- Bottom
- Take the back as
- Prevent the back take by removing connections
- If the back take does happen reverse the position and get to mount
Game 1-b
Starting Position
- Positions


- 1 - place your knee high and unto your opponent's hip
- 2 - have your other leg on in between his thighs
- 3 - grip underneath his armpits
- 4 - free to do whatever
Objective
- Top
- Get to the person on bottom's back
- Maintain a good back take control and by that I mean:
- chest to back connection
- ear to ear
- seat belt or figure four grip
- hooks in / body lock
- If you are mounted the game continues.
- You are expected to escape → you do this by putting your knee in between you and your opponent
- Bottom
- Remove the chest to back connection that the Top player has
- To do this remove the hand which is wrapped underneath your armpit and bring your elbow to the mat
Game 2
Starting Position

- 1 - foot into the crook of your opponent's knee
- 2 - cross your leg over this foot (try to use the shin)
- 3 - have a grip cupping underneath your thigh (below your knee cap)
Objective
- Top
- Get to your opponent's back.
- We achieve this by:
- Bringing the opponent's knee to the mats
- Gripping their hip + shoulder
- Shrimping out and adjusting alignment on their back
- The idea is to get to the position in game 1-b
Game 3
Starting Position
Starting position

- 1 - Burrito grip
- 2 - Leg against the shin / ankle
- 3 - knee shield
Objectives
- Top
- Bottom
- Prevent the sweep
- We achieve this by:
- Getting your should into their cheek
- Passing their guard
- We achieve this by:
- Bypassing the knee shield
Context Switching
Game 4
Starting Position
- Side control w/ your shoulder planted into your opponents face
- palm to palm with your thumb on the inside
Objective
- Top
- Maintain chest to chest contact
- Keep your opponent on the floor
- Continuous game with no clear winning condition
- Bottom
- remove the shoulder from your cheek
- get to your opponent's back from reaching around them
- The games doesn't stop if you end up in half-guard or even closed guard. Keep rolling until you get to your opponent's back
Game 5
Starting Position
- Start in a completely neutral position with one person standing and another supine
Objective
- Top
- Attempt to pass the guard by using only
- side control
- getting into half-guard
- Bottom
- get to your opponent's back using octopus guard
- reverse the position and get to a more dominant position
