Game 1
Starting Position


- 1 - make a "c" grip with your hand and grab the blade of your foot
- 2 - place your arm underneath your leg
- 3 - get the crook of your elbow around their neck
- 4 - place the other foot into the waistline of your opponent
Objective
- Person who is doing the buggy choke
- You are to maintain the buggy choke for the duration of the game's time
- If you opponent tries to defend to push away from the buggy choke grab their arm with your free arm
- so if the buggy choke is on your right hand you grab them with your left
- Person who is being choked
- You are to escape the choke
- This can be achieved by
- Wrapping the arm close to your head around the waistline of your opponent
- Use your other arm to frame the face away
- Rotate your body towards the head
Game 2-a
Starting Position
- Person on bottom start in octopus guard with no hooks (butterfly/ko-soto)
- Person on top has no grips either
Objective
- Person on top
- Your goal is to bring your opponent down so that their back is flat against the mats
- Your shoulder is pressed into their cheek
- Person on bottom
- Maintain the octopus guard position
- Once they go to put your back on the mats you are to hip out and get the buddy choke
- Maintain the buggy choke for the duration of the time given

Starting position
- This game can be done by either choosing to use the ko-soto / butterfly hook
Game 2
Starting position

- 1 - elbow deep into their shoulder + grab their lat
- 2 - chest must be outside and over their waistline
- 3 - wrap your leg around the opponent's shin
- you'll know your doing it right when the knee is flared
- (crook of the knee wrapping over the shin of your opponent)
Objectives
- Escaping player
- Your objective is to:
- maintain the back heel into the knee
- walk your foot into your opponent to free up space so you can switch the hips
- Attacking player
- Your objective is to get your over the head of the escapee and get chest to chest contact
Common mistakes

- 1 - Don't trap the bottom leg as well.
- 2 - Only the top leg should have the knee flared
Game 3
Starting Position

- 1 - place your elbow into your opponent's shoulder
- reinforce by cupping your underneath your thigh, near the crook of your knee <- this is optional
- 2 - place your toes on the inside of the thigh
- 3 - place your shin in the crook of your opponents knee
Objective
- Top
- extend your opponent's leg with your foot
- push into them & depending on their reaction
- trying to push back into you → do sweep #2
- they do nothing and stay still → take the back
- trying to move away → do butterfly sweep #1 -
Context Switching
Game 4
Starting Position
- Side control w/ your shoulder planted into your opponents face
- palm to palm with your thumb on the inside
Objective
- Top
- Maintain chest to chest contact
- Keep your opponent on the floor
- Continuous game with no clear winning condition
- Bottom
- remove the shoulder from your cheek
- get to your opponent's back from reaching around them
- The games doesn't stop if you end up in half-guard or even closed guard. Keep rolling until you get to your opponent's back
Game 5
Starting Position
- Start in a completely neutral position with one person standing and another supine
Objective
- Top
- Attempt to pass the guard by using only
- side control
- getting into half-guard
- Bottom
- get to your opponent's back using octopus guard
- reverse the position and get to a more dominant position
Objective
- Top
- Get your opponent's back to the mats
- Take your opponent's back
- Bottom
- when your opponent tries to get your back to the mats use that opportunity to get and maintain the buggy choke
- You also have the option to sweep your opponent based on which hooks you have in
- Ko-soto = hook sweep, hip bump
- butterfly = sweep-1, sweep-2, butterfly bolo
Game 3
Starting position

- 1 - Burrito grip
- 2 - Leg against the shin / ankle
- 3 - knee shield
Objective
- Top
- Pass your opponent's guard
- get chest to chest connection
- get chest to back connection
- Bottom
- Reverse the position with a sweep
- Ko-soto
- Butterfly
- Get and maintain the buggy choke
Context Switching
Game 4
Starting Position
- Start in any variation of side control (examples shown below)



Objective
- Top
- Maintain chest to chest contact at all times
- Shoulder forcing your opponents face to look away
- Feel free to adjust to different positions (mount, north-south etc) but the position must end in side control
- what I mean by that is if you start in side control and go into mount you must return on the other side (or same side) into a variation side control
- Bottom
- You are to remove the shoulder from your face and use octopus guard to get a finish with the buggy choke
Game 5
Starting Position
- Top -> Start standing with no grip
- Bottom -> Start seated
Objective
- Top -> you are allowed to finish the submission
- Choose one of the following submissions
- Armbar
- RNC
- Guillotine
- Bottom -> You are allowed to finish the submission
- Prevent your guard from being passed
- You are only allowed to finish with the buggy choke from octopus guard
