Game 1

The D’arce Choke

  • 1 - Push your arm from your opponent’s armpit and wrap your arm around the neck of your opponent
  • 2 - Using the hand from position 1, cup the bicep of your next arm and grab the shoulder of the person on bottom
  • 3 - ensure your chest is against your opponents head
    • this reinforces the choke

Objective

  • Player who has in the darce choke
    • your objective is to control the darce choke for the duration of the game (do not finish the submission)
  • Player who is defending
    • your objective is to either:
      • escape from the darce choke
      • get chest to chest contact and shoulder to check connection

Game 2

Houdini Escape

  • 1 - Place your elbow into the back of your opponent’s head
    • acts as a wedge which helps the pushing motion of the Houdini escape
  • 2 - Get your arm underneath your opponent’s stomach and to the other side of his waist
    • this hand underneath with allow you to push your opponent over your body
  • 3 - Lift your hips and place your knee into your opponent’s shoulder
    • this will act act a block to prevent north-south

Objective

  • Top
    • Your objective is to consolidate any of the listed positions for 3 seconds and get to:
      • north-south
      • mount (optional)
    • The person on top can’t do any other type of side control pin
  • Bottom
    • Using the Houdini escape get to the Darce choke
       

Game 3

  • Starting Position → Low side control
    • notion image
    • 1 - Shoulder into your opponent’s cheek
    • 2 - Connect your elbow to your opponent’s waistline
      • For this wedge feel free to experiment where your hand will go
    • 3 - Chest to chest contact
    • Although it isn’t shown in the above, try to use your knees to point the person on bottom’s hip in the opposite direction away from you
  • Starting Position → From another angle

      • 1 - place one hand into your opponent’s hip
      • 2 - place another hand into your opponent’s neck
    • Bottom
      • 3 - shoulder into your opponent’s check

Game 4

Starting position → Half Guard / Closed Guard

Objective

  • Guard Passer
    • Your objective is to move pass the guard (half/closed) and get chest to chest contact with shoulder to cheek pressure
    • You are only allowed submissions from side control
  • Guard player
    • Your objective is to prevent the passing of your guard and if your guard gets passed, use the Houdini escape → darce choke to get a submission
 

Game 5

  • Standing To Side Control

Objective

  • Guard Passer
    • Your objective is to get into side control and finish submission from there
  • Guard player
    • Your objective is to prevent the guard pass
    • If your guard gets past you are to:
      • escape
      • use the darce choke
    • If you escape or sub then reset
