- 3 - Connect ankle to ankle
Attention
- Player who is on their back to maintain control of the submission
- Work on their capacity to finish with their back to the mats
Intention
- Player on their back
- Maintain control over your opponent’s wrist, without rotating their arm for a break
- Control their posture with your legs and prevent them from getting up
- If the other player escapes your control, get it back and continue your primary objective of maintaining control over your opponent’s wrist
- Player in the guard
- Remove the wrist grips that the other player has over you
- this can be done by straightening the arm
- Remove yourself from the leg grips the other player has over you and get either
- chest to chest
- chest to back
Game 2
Starting Position

- 0 - Back to the mats
- 1 - grab the crook of your knee
- 2 - grab the wrist of your opponent
- 3 - Connect ankle to ankle
Attention
- Player who is on their back to maintain control of the figure four submission
- Work on their capacity to finish with their back to the mats
Intention
- Player on their back
- Get into the starting position from game #1
- Once this position has been achieved the objective is the same as before
- Maintain control over your opponent’s wrist, without rotating their arm for a break
- Control their posture with your legs and prevent them from getting up
- If the other player escapes your control, get it back and continue your primary objective of maintaining control over your opponent’s wrist
- Player in the guard
- You are to break the connection that are holding you down from your opponent achieving:
- chest to chest connection for 3 counts of Mississippi
- chest to back both legs are connected to your opponent’s thighs
- (or standing up & away from them) → optional requirement
Game 3
Starting Position

- Start with your legs wrapped ankle to ankle around your opponent
- Your back is to mats
- Your opponent’s hands are on their chest
- Player who is on their back to gain the upper hand position
- Work on their capacity to finish from the back
Intention
- Player on their back
- Using your legs, rock your opponent forward and get them into the position from game 1
- Once the position has been achieved then the game happens the same as the previous
- Maintain control over your opponent’s wrist, without rotating their arm for a break
- Control their posture with your legs and prevent them from getting up
- If the other player escapes your control, get it back and continue your primary objective of maintaining control over your opponent’s wrist
- Player in the guard
- You are to break the connection that are holding you down from your opponent achieving:
- chest to chest connection for 3 counts of Mississippi
- chest to back both legs are connected to your opponent’s thighs

Game 4
Attention
Starting Position

- One player of the game is standing
- One player of the game is seated
Attention
- Player who is on their back to gain the upper hand position by working submissions
- Work on their capacity to finish from off their backs
- Work on their capacity to use closed guard as an offensive position
Intention
- Player seated
- Using your legs and hands bring your opponent down into your closed guard
- The goal is to get them into the position from game 1. Once the position has been achieved we work through the same steps as before
- Maintain control over your opponent’s wrist, without rotating their arm for a break
- Control their posture with your legs and prevent them from getting up
- If the other player escapes your control, get it back and work for the finish with the figure four grip
- Player standing
- Get your opponent’s back to the mats
- Achieve either:
- chest to chest
- chest to back
Game 5
- Both players start standing
- The game starts once the player’s hips hit the mats
- The player who hits the mats should lock up closed guard while the other is trying to get chest to chest or chest to back and go for any submission
- The person on bottom is trying to get to the position from the first game and get the submission
