Objective

  • This game is supposed to assist in the development of pinning another person to the floor within the confines of jiu-jitsu
    • It opens up submissions from this position

    • Submission Threats = None
      • Why are there no submission threats from underneath chest to chest? There are submissions from being underneath your opponent but the likely chance you’ll be able to successfully submit your opponent is low
      • So instead we train to get to a more advantageous position where we don’t have our knees and elbows separated, our opponent having access to our hips and our backs are not against the mats as this prevents us from having any kind of mobility
    • Aim: Become the person on top
      • Reversal of the position through sweeping

  • Attacker’s Goal
    • Submission Threat = Head with the arm in choke
    • Aim = Get your opponent’s back to the mats
      • Remove the foot which is connected to your thigh
      • Place your hand on your opponent’s back
  • Defender’s Goal
    • Submission Threat = Not the focus
      • For this particular game we are not focusing on the potential front headlock choke which is available to you as the defender
